cultivate a resilient mind.
What is ReMind?
ReMind is a mindful climbing experience where movement and nature meet to steady the mind and restore the nervous system. Where climbers and non-climbers alike explore the connection between body and mind. ReMind offers practical tools to shift mental patterns, manage stress, and develop resilience.
Our toolbox
To build a more resilient brain, we need the right tools.
Mindset
We use climbing to elicit reactions and explore those reactions through thoughtful questioning by our trained guides. This iterative process, coupled with reflection at the end of the session, is designed to build your resilience both on and off the wall.
Fall practice
Intentionally placing ourselves in a stressful (yet controlled) environment allows us to practice being aware of and evaluating our comfort zones. Fall practice is designed to change the mind’s narrative through experience and (gently) expand what we think we’re capable of.
Blindfolded climbing
Climbing blindfolded focuses your mind on the present by removing your ability to judge holds. Exposing your body and mind to this experience, with help from trained professionals, teaches your body and mind new ways to handle the stresses you encounter on the wall. And in life.
Joanne Ting:
"I’ve always assumed that rest is a passive thing– sleep, eat clean, gentle movement. But I now realise that rest can be the opposite: an active and intentional process.”
ReMindKids
Studies in therapeutic climbing show climbing can bring increased self-esteem, better anxiety management, and improved executive functions in children. ReMindKids offers children a mindful climbing experience and an opportunity to practice these skills.
WomenOnTheWall
Where women come together to reconnect with nature. Over two-days, we use the experience of climbing outdoors to find our ground and address mental blocks that get in the way of life. Each retreat is limited to a small group for an unfiltered and authentic experience.
Bespoke Climbing Intensive
Outdoor climbing can’t be fully controlled. Conditions change. Bolts aren’t always where you expect them. Your body, your headspace, and your partner show up differently each day. No amount of preparation removes that uncertainty.
ReMind Intensives are designed to expand tolerance not by eliminating fear and risks, but through mastery. As skills get ingrained and systems become habit, confidence shifts from "I hope nothing goes wrong” to "I can respond when it does.”
That ability to say “I’ve got this” — even without knowing exactly what’s coming next — is resilience.
Steph Maxwell:
“ReMind was born from my climbing journey as well as the many lives I’ve seen affected by it. It is the perfect playground for identifying the edge of your comfort zone and expanding it. Climbing helped me become more self aware and confident in my own abilities, on and off the wall. Our intention is to guide others to experience their own growth from climbing.”
Steph is trained in therapeutic climbing and experiential education. She also has a level-three climbing wall instructor certificate and a level-three SEACF Certification for Sport Climbing.
